“Competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.”
I have come across this several times! Don’t get me wrong; I like competition, I can be very competitive, but I have an invisible line that I CANT stand anyone crossing.
The sorry loser!
You know this type of personality, where they take a temper tantrum because they did not get what they wanted.
There was this one time I was playing ‘Magic,’ a card game. Everyone was having fun; it was a group of eight of us laughing. Because I would make a deck that was always irritating, one of my friends teamed up with me getting me to help him take out the rest of the group. I knew I was going to lose, but how I lost was so amusing. There were only four of us left; I was one of them. My partner in crime and I had agreed to take out our next target. Once he was out, he took his deck of cards and threw them across the room, screaming that we had been cheating. The thing was his partner in crime was defeated by yours truly beforehand. After he collected his cards stomped out of the house and left, we as a collective had concluded that he was no longer allowed to play cards with us ever again.
Has to top your story!
Everyone loves to tell stories about events that have happened. For one reason or another, I get in a group setting, and I always attract people that have this sense that their story has to be better than mine.
All of my friends know that I am accident-prone, so I have a lot of great stories about being able to trip over my own shadow. I will call him Sam, if I bruised my knee, by tripping, he had twisted his ankle. I could have a simple cough; he is dying from a cough runny nose and a bad fever. Needless to say, I stopped talking around this person and over time, Sam was no longer around us.
Competition is health and is loads of fun. Everyone likes to win, but we all know that there are going to be times we are not on top. Which is fine; joke around, shake hands and going on with your day. Personally, I prefer to lose because I spend more time irritating my competitors, and we have a great story to tell about how I was an asshat!
